What is “hot” and “ahead of the curve?” Vegas will be hot, very hot. Luckily we will be inside some gorgeous showrooms to see their hot new market debuts – I can’t wait! I have attended almost every Vegas market since the grand opening in the summer of 2005. I usually attend High Point at least once a year as well with my staff, as I believe it is crucial to see products in person so I can attest wholeheartedly to their beauty and function. I believe our clients appreciate our curated selections that are based on a personal experience with the piece.
This summer I am predicting a strong showing of what I’m calling Natural Glamour. I love seeing the natural beauty of mother nature reflected in glamorous finishes and organic materials. I am sure we will see much Natural Glamour at Currey & Company (C398). They are one of my absolute favorite showrooms at market – gorgeous products and fabulous people. Oh, and lest I forget delicious snacks, cocktails, and Rives (the adorably sweet showroom poodle) are always awaiting you! Also awaiting are beautiful products, like the new Forest Light Chandelier from the Aviva Stanoff Collection. Finished in gold or silver leaf, and dripping with dozens of quartz crystals, it’s ridiculously beautiful, and a perfect example of the Natural Glamour trend.
Last Las Vegas market, I was lucky enough to head home with an incredible work of art, a hand knotted silk rug from Feizy (C180). As lucky market attendees, we have the opportunity to personally select one-of-a-kind rugs for clients (and/or ourselves…market can be very dangerous… and very expensive 😉 The piece I picked up is insanely gorgeous, 100% shimmery silk in moody hues of charcoal, taupe, and lilac, with a loose floral design hand cut and carved into the pile. I died. And then was revived long enough to supply my credit card. And then died again. But it was so worth it.
A unique and perfect example of Natural Glamour, now in my dining room (I have no children, so I told myself a silk dining room rug is totally reasonable. My yellow lab also has excellent taste, and quickly took up residence on the silky pile). I expect Feizy to have an excellent selection of unique one of a kind pieces again, and their stock collections are always worth a view. New this market is the hand knotted Wexford Collection, which Feizy describes as being inspired by “the luminous interplay of light on the ocean with a palette that mimics the color gradients found across the range of depths”. The Gray/Purple colorway looks dreamy and quite Naturally Glamorous as well.
